About Glenn Delong II

Glenn Delong is a fierce competitor who knows how to devote himself to achieving a high level of proficiency in a short time. However, despite that drive to succeed, he is known for a friendly and upbeat demeanor that endears him to people wherever he goes.

Glenn competes on the most prestigious tournament trail in the world; the Bassmaster Elite Series. The Elite Series is the highest level of competition avaliable to competitive anglers today, only 110 anglers are invited to compete on the Elite Series each year after qualifying. Glenn qualified for this level after only 5 years of competing in tournaments.

He turned to tournament angling after injuries forced him to retire from a 15-year career in motocross racing. He hit the trail with a flurry and hasn't looked back since putting his boat in the water for the first time.

His career accomplishments mirror that of an angler who has spent his whole life competing, and his aptitude for the sport has found him ranked among the top 100 anglers in the world.

2007 was Glenn's rookie year on the Bassmaster Elite Series, and in his inagural season he finished in the money 5 times, including two top 12 ESPN2 finishes. His season was highlighted by a 12th place finish in March at Califonia's Clear Lake, and a 4th place finish at the season ending event a Lake Tohopekaliga in Florida.

Along the way, Glenn promoted his sponsors and his brand to millions of individuals through direct contact, television apperances on ESPN2, radio, print media, and the internet.

Glenn’s sophomore year in the Bassmaster Elite Series began with an unexpected turn of events. The 2008 season was projected to be one of high hopes and victories. But these hopes were snagged when Glenn woke the first tournament of the season to find his boat broken into and every piece of fishing equipment gone. A few replacement tackle pieces were offered by the generosity of others. But without his own rods and reels, Glenn felt like a rookie starting all over again. Unknown to him at the time, Glenn would have five top fifty finishes in his 2008 Series. Although there were a few other bumps in the road, he finished his Elite Series on a high note placing 9th at Lake Erie and 14th on Lake Oneida bringing him from a point placing of 96th place to 73rd place. During times of trouble and his back against the wall, Glenn came out swinging and it paid off. He is now able to re-qualify for the up coming 2009 Elite Series.
